Meet the Staff
Cassie
Cassie Katz opened Katz & Dogs in 2008 with a dream of entrepreneurship and a passion to care for the health, beauty and well being of dogs and cats. She started a summer job 23 years ago as a bather in a local grooming shop. This led to starting a housecall business at age 19 along with 5 years as the groomer at a veterinary clinic. She has since cultivated her career into a thriving business with two full time grooming vans and two long time trusted employees. Cassie is a member of and is certified by the National Dog Groomers Association of America (NDGAA). Her certifications include the Non Sporting and Terrier groups. She is currently working towards her Sporting group certification and then on to become a National Certified Master Groomer. This voluntary achievement has been a long time goal that speaks for the devotion and commitment to her grooming career. She regularly maintains her continued education by traveling to attend grooming trade shows, taking seminars, workshops and entering competitions.
Cassie and her husband Dave have two sons, Dash (14) and Daegan (12). Their four legged family members include an Estrella Mountain Dog named Yobbo, a St. Berdoodle named Delta, a Miniature Poodle named Zoey, and a Staffordshire Bull Terrier named Harper.
"I get so much joy out of the personalities of the pets I work with. Each one has a piece of my heart and I love the time I get to spend with these beautiful animals. I am at ease while I'm grooming. It is the same feeling an artist has when painting a picture or creating a sculpture. Each pet is a canvas to display my artistic passion and nurture the connection that I hold so dear."
